Denver Water coined the term "xeriscape" in 1981 by combining landscape with the Greek prefix xero-, from ξηρός (xēros), meaning 'dry'. Xeris Landscaping carries on this innovative tradition through purpose-driven projects that steward our resources and time.

South Newton

This project represents an economic and high-efficiency site redesign. The theme was high desert, using cold-hardy cacti and succulents. Seventy percent of the available lot was redesigned, leveraging low-to-no-maintenance plants and hardscape elements, including three social zones (firepit, dining, lounging). The project feature included a custom rock crevice garden alongside steel cacti structures.

South Sheridan

This project is a smaller-scale project that is very typical for an initial entry into the value of xeriscaping. In this case, the front yard was transformed with a mix of drip irrigation and non-irrigated areas. The direction for the landscaping was to create a low-maintenance yard with curb appeal that was easy for the landlord and tenants to maintain.
