Decades of compaction, and what's buried
Older Wheat Ridge yards often come with compacted soil, uneven grade, and sometimes buried debris from earlier landscaping — old edging, rock, concrete. We find that during removal, not after the plants are in. The soil gets decompacted before planting, and the grade gets corrected while the ground is open, because that's the only cheap time to fix it.
Turf on a small lot
A compact dog run or a small putting green can work well on a Wheat Ridge lot — but on a small yard there's less room to absorb a drainage mistake. We excavate properly, build a compacted aggregate base, and verify drainage before the turf goes down. PFAS-free products only; turf starts at $10 per square foot.
